With Tencent Cloud, Pokekara could expand beyond songs to provide a richer experience that includes online chat, song rooms, live broadcasts and other scenarios. Additionally, Pokekara can now access a variety of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS)-based products such as compute, network, and storage resources. It provides real-time auto-scaling capabilities to respond to peaks in activity and eliminates the need for the business to invest time and money in capital work while delivering high service availability.
Performance improves after switching to Tencent Cloud
To provide a seamless live audio and video streaming experience to users, two main products are used, Tencent Real-Time Communication (TRTC) and Cloud Streaming Services (CSS). These effectively meet low latency, high throughput, and accessibility requirements for various scenarios. With over 2,800 CDN nodes worldwide, our products can easily support large-scale interactive live audio and video broadcasts.
After switching to Tencent Cloud, Pokekara compared data such as latency and found that performance improved across all metrics. The company also appreciated the data analysis support we provided, which they could not continue to do on their own as they grew.
Richer experiences for consumers
At its heart, Pokekara isn’t just a singing app, but it’s a social tool that builds engaged communities with deeper connections. Content creators can show off their talent, while any user can have their songs rated and ranked against others. They can increase their visibility by uploading their own songs and make new friends by interacting with other people’s works.
Once users get to know each other, they can use the Song Room function to interact, sing and chat together. The app’s choir feature allows friends to sing simultaneously and creates a sense of togetherness.
Focus on expertise and things that matter
In the highly competitive social entertainment industry, Pokekara must invest time and energy in business development, product design and experience. This created great pressure on Pokekara’s tech team when they were managing their own self-built platform.
Not only did Tencent Cloud’s TRTC real-time audio and video products and CSS cloud live streaming products allow the application to scale, but also freed up Pokekara’s technical team to focus on improving and optimizing app functionality and responding quickly to changes in consumer behavior and requests.
