The new wave superstars behind ‘Rio’ are back with an updated sound.
Duran Duran has released ‘MORE JOY’, a new track with CHAI, from their upcoming album Future Past.
It’s a sequel to âInvisible,â their most recent single, with the group enlisting the help of the all-Japanese girl group for their latest effort.
âThe song was born out of a crazy jam with Duran Duran, Graham Coxon and Erol Alkan,â said keyboardist Nick Rhodes.
âIt was such an unusual piece that we weren’t quite sure it would fit in at first. It reminded me of one of those retro Japanese video games, which I’ve always found quite inspiring. . “
Lead singer Simon Le Bon went on to say that âNick suggested girlish vocals on ‘MORE JOY’.
I knew exactly where to find them – CHAI, an all-female post-modern Japanese punk band whose energy and pure sense of fun might actually blow your ears! We are honored to have sprinkled them with their magical neon pink powder on our song. “
Future Past will be Duran Duran’s first record of new material in over six years and their 15th album in total. Their last outing, Paper gods, reached the top ten of the UK and US charts.
