Japanese group Babymetal will rock KL with their unique ‘kawaii metal’

Japanese kawaii metal band Babymetal is set to present their unique brand of J-pop and rock metal in Malaysia on March 27 at KL Live in Kuala Lumpur.

The Babymetal Live In KL show will be the second stop on Metal Galaxy’s Asian tour, which will also hit Bangkok, Jakarta and Taipei.

The group consists of Suzuka Nakamoto (also known as “Su-metal”) and Moa Kikuchi (“Moametal”), who provide the vocals (and screams), supported by the “Kami Band” of musicians from heavy metal session. Originally a trio, Babymetal took the world by storm in 2013, with their self-titled debut album in 2014, which introduced the world to their unique combination of “kawaii” (Japanese for cute) and heavy metal. Second album Metal resistance, released in 2016, was a solid international success and contained hits such as Karate and Gimme Chocolate !.

Despite the departure of original member Yui Mizuno (‘Yuimetal’) in October 2018, the group continued as a duo, even performing at the Glastonbury Festival last year in Britain. He recently released his third album (and the first as a duet), Metal galaxy in October.

Tickets are now on sale at Galactix. Early bird tickets cost RM 158, while normal ticket prices cost RM 178 and RM 208.
