According to Johnny’s Entertainment, NewS’s new single, “Weeeek,” was written and composed by famous pop quartet GreeeeN and is also the publicity song for a stylish Western fashion brand in Japan.

Different from their previous ballad-style single “In the Name of Stars”, this time the rhythmic rock sound of the members tries to bring listeners upbeat cheers and promises of positive days ahead.

Besides some unreleased songs, the new album “Pacific” will contain four songs selected from their previous works. Most notable is “Teppen”. As the group had eight members, the current six re-recorded this song and will certainly give their fans a different feeling.

The single and the album will have two editions, one of which is limited.

The Johnny’s Entertainment, which was established by Johnny Kitagawa in the early 1960s, has dominated the boy band market for the past four decades. Most of today’s top male groups in Japan are its members: SMAP, Tokio, Kinki Kids, V6 and Arashi, while NewS and KAT-TUN are among the rising young generation.
