Neon Genesis Evangelion Composer and Genshin Impact team up

When it comes to anime, there are few things more important to creators than creating a soundtrack. From shonen classics to slice-of-life antics, even the most mundane anime is put to the test when it comes to scoring. Of course, some shows have spawned iconic tracks, and Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of those exemplary titles. And now, it looks like the anime’s composer is ready to team up with Genshin Impact.

The update has just gone live in Japan as Shiro Sagisu told fans that he is ready to step into the world of Genshin Impact. The composer will conduct a live concert for the game on October 2 in Japan, and fans overseas can watch online. So if you want to see Sagisu bring his impeccable work to Genshin Impact, you can put this event on your calendar now.

“Genshin Impact’s original soundtracks fit seamlessly into the actual scenes and atmosphere of the game, and also offer plenty to imagine beyond the game,” Sagisu explained in a statement regarding the event. “With the HOYO-MiX team and international artists, we have tried different touches of music, incorporating elements of pop, rock and jazz music. I hope we can create a refreshing and fun experience for players.”

Of course, Sagisu wasn’t involved in creating the music behind Genshin Impact even though he will be conducting this concert. The original scores were made by Yu-Peng Chen and HOYO-MIX in China. This concert will bring the game’s best tunes to life with the help of the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, and Elmear Noone will conduct the concert.

As for Sagisu, fans can’t wait to see Genshin Impact tackle as he rarely works with video game IPs. In his more than 40 years of work, the composer has become known for his contributions to shows like Bleach, Berserk and Neon Genesis Evangelion. More recently, the musician has worked on the Rebuild of Evangelion film series as well as Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.
