Studio Ghibli Composer Joe Hisaishi Postpones London Concert Due To COVID-19 Contract

Composer of Studio Ghibli Joe Hisaishibest known for being a longtime collaborator on all Hayao Miyazakianimated movies, has tested positive for COVID-19. The news was announcement by sound producers Joe Hisaishi Symphonic Concert: Music by Studio Ghibli Films by Hayao Miyazakiwho confirmed that this weekend’s shows at the OVO Arena Wembley in London are canceled as the music composer cannot travel.

Hisaishi was to conduct the BBC Concert Orchestra at Wembley on scenes from previous films which are shown on the big screen. A message from Joe Hisaishi was published by the producers:

Hello everyone who was looking forward to my concert, I’m really sorry that I couldn’t do it. I got infected with corona.

We will definitely have a concert soon, so let’s meet then. I can not wait to see you.



The producers have confirmed that the Joe Hisaishi Symphonic Concert: Music by Studio Ghibli Films by Hayao Miyazaki will still be going on, just that the dates are not yet confirmed. Tickets already purchased can be postponed.
